The purpose of Respite is to relieve families of the constant and ongoing responsibility of caring for a family member with a developmental disability. 

Konocti Respite provides quality Respite Services throughout Lake and Mendocino County that: 

·         Respects the dignity, cultural lifestyle, and overall uniqueness of each family

·         Offer parents and caregivers the opportunity for rest and self renewal

·         Addresses each family’s individualized needs

·         Provides sensitivity and understanding to the family unit

·         Maintains stability during unusual or stressful periods of time

·         Bridges the gap of isolation often experienced by parents or caregivers

·         Helps parents/caregivers keep family members with developmental disabilities at home

·         Maintains the family unit

·         Allows parents/caregivers the opportunity to participate in a higher quality of life

·         Enables fuller participation by all family members in their communities

·         Restores and/or maintains the physical and mental well being of the whole family

·         Planned or emergency meetings

·         Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

·         Provides supportive companionship during family recreational events. 

·         Provides trained staff to meet your Respite care needs
